The designs include messages of happiness and good fortune for the upcoming year in multiple languages including: Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Thai, Tibetan, Tagalog, Malay, Indonesian and Mongolian. Lunar New Year is celebrated with much fervour and the main days of celebrations this year would be January 31 (New Years Eve) and February 1. A 12th annual observance of Lunar New Year debuted Thursday at Costa Mesa’s South Coast Plaza. The TTC has decorated a number of our buses and streetcars in a special Year of the Rabbit design. Chinese New Year for the year 2022 is celebrated/ observed on Tuesday, February 1.
